Gammaras Ingredients and Usage
The active ingredient is Human Normal Immunoglobulin containing primarily IgG with a broad spectrum of antibodies against bacterial and viral antigens. It is administered as a slow intravenous infusion with the initial rate of 0.5-1 mg/kg/min, gradually increasing as tolerated.Gammaras is clinically indicated for:Primary immunodeficiency syndromes
Secondary immunodeficiencies with impaired antibody production
Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP)
Guillain-Barré syndrome and other neuroimmunological disorders
Kawasaki disease and various autoimmune conditions
How Does Gammaras Work?
Gammaras provides immunomodulatory effects through multiple mechanisms:Antibody Replacement: Provides broad-spectrum IgG antibodies for immunodeficient patients
Fc Receptor Blockade: Blocks Fc receptors on macrophages in immune thrombocytopenia
Anti-inflammatory Action: Modulates complement activation and cytokine production
Autoantibody Neutralization: Neutralizes pathogenic autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases
Gammaras Side Effects and Warnings
Common side effects include headache, fever, chills, myalgia, and infusion site reactions. Most reactions are mild and occur during or shortly after infusion.Serious Considerations
Anaphylaxis: May cause severe hypersensitivity reactions, especially in IgA-deficient patients
Thromboembolic Events: Increased risk of thrombosis, stroke, and myocardial infarction
Aseptic Meningitis: Can cause aseptic meningitis syndrome within 72 hours of infusion
Renal Impairment: May cause acute renal failure, especially with sucrose-containing products
Hemolytic Reactions: Can cause hemolysis due to passive transfer of blood group antibodies
Gammaras Storage Conditions
Gammaras Injection requires strict storage conditions:Store at 2°C to 8°C in refrigerator
Do not freeze - protect from light
Keep in original carton until use
Use immediately after opening
Do not use if cloudy, discolored, or contains particles
