Overview

Palbonix 100mg is an advanced oncology medication containing the active ingredient Palbociclib. This targeted therapy is available through PakMeds for patients across Pakistan.

Important Information

Key Benefits of Palbonix

  • Targets specific proteins to help slow down the division and growth of cancer cells.

  • Works in combination with endocrine therapies to improve progression-free survival.

  • Provides an oral treatment option for advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

  • Helps delay the need for starting aggressive chemotherapy regimens.

Palbonix Ingredients and Usage

Palbonix contains Palbociclib, which belongs to a class of medications known as cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal women, and men, with hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

This medicine is used in combination with an aromatase inhibitor as initial endocrine-based therapy, or with fulvestrant in patients whose disease has progressed after receiving previous endocrine therapy. Your oncologist will determine the exact combination regimen suitable for your specific diagnosis.

How Does Palbonix Work?

Palbociclib works by blocking two specific proteins called cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6). These proteins are highly active in certain cancer cells, causing them to grow and divide too quickly. By inhibiting CDK4/6, Palbonix helps stop the progression of the cell cycle, thereby slowing down or halting the growth of the breast cancer cells.

How to Use Palbonix

Palbonix is an oral capsule that must be swallowed whole with food. Do not chew, crush, or open the capsules before swallowing.

It is highly recommended to take this medication at approximately the same time every day to maintain consistent levels in your body.

Your oncologist will determine the appropriate treatment cycle and duration. Always follow their precise instructions and do not alter your schedule without consulting them.
