Recormon 5000IU contains Epoetin Beta, a recombinant form of the human hormone erythropoietin. How Does Recormon 5000IU Injection Work?

Epoetin Beta, the active ingredient, works identically to natural erythropoietin produced by the kidneys. It binds to erythropoietin receptors on the surface of erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow. This binding stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of these cells into mature red blood cells (erythrocytes). By increasing the number of red blood cells, Recormon improves the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood, alleviating symptoms like extreme fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath.

The most common side effect is a dose-related increase in blood pressure or worsening of existing hypertension.
