Epokine Ingredients and Usage

The active ingredient is Epoetin Alfa, produced through recombinant DNA technology. The pre-filled syringe is administered subcutaneously or intravenously, typically 1 to 3 times per week as directed by a healthcare professional.

Epokine is clinically indicated for:

• Anemia associated with chronic kidney disease
• Anemia in chemotherapy-treated cancer patients
• Anemia in zidovudine-treated HIV patients
• To reduce blood transfusion requirements in surgery patients

How Does Epokine Work?

Epokine stimulates erythropoiesis through targeted biological action:

1. Increased Cardiovascular Risk: Higher risk of death, MI, stroke, and thrombosis in CKD patients

4. Pure Red Cell Aplasia: Risk of antibody-mediated PRCA with chronic use
