Hello!
I'm a fourth year student at Ziauddin university, I'm also interested in preparing for step 1 , I would like to know since I'm doing patho for the 1st time, is it enough for me to go through Kaplan, brs and patho slides only . I haven't studied it before from a descriptive book like robins .

Hello Faizan,

I am in 4th year and I have already started studying for the USMLE. Is it ok to skip the DVDs and the Goljan audio? Also, if you would tell your score, it would help a lot in deciding whether I should go on your footsteps.

Regards,

Thanks . That was very helpful . I have few more doubts . How long do we need to wait to change our status after entering US ? Some say 90 days some say 60 days . And what are the chances of COS being denied ? Have there been any such cases ? cuz if tht happens it wud be a disaster . And wht do u think i shud be going for Stamping in home country or COS ? Does it take really long for the clearance of names with Mohammed or the clearance is just random n unpredictable ? What did u go for ? . I kno dese are a lot of questions .Answer dem at ur convinience .Thnk u !!

Mohammed Omar Ahmed: You can enter the US in May again and get the status changed. At the POE you will need to justify your visit be it an observership or just holidays. People have done that in the past. It usually takes around a months time to get I797 sorted out with premium processing. It has got nothing to do with name because it would not go in clearance. You would be living on your valid I797. Hope that was helpful

Great Job guys . I have few doubts regarding change of status from B1/B2 to H1 . As i have heard we need to have a valid I-94 till 1st july to be eligble for status change to H1. And how likely is it that we wont have any problems at POE while enetering US just after the match cuz we would be in the US for interviews till mid Jan. So there is a short very short interval of 2 months in between. Wont that be a problem at POE ? And what is the time required for change of status in the US even with premium processing . I have an extremely common name as yours . So what would you suggest me ?consular processing or change status to H1 ?

Dear Dr.Khan - the problem with plab digest was that it wasnt updated. see if you can get an updated edition. for practice you may do it, but if you find updated material, then practice that instead of wasting time on plab digest. 2 months is not a bad time. just plan yourself well. inshAllah you will do well.

Dear Dr.Rehman - as far as academy courses are concerned, you can only find them in england. pakistan has no institutions for it as far as i know. try to get your knowledge refreshed and practice lots of emqz and mcqz.
a postgraduate degree is very useful in the CV, specially for getting a job later. but it has nothing to do with your gmc registration.
